Gender Equality in Lebanon

How far are we from Gender Equality in Lebanon?

A gender statistical report in partnership between CAS and UNDP highlights how gender disaggregated data could help mainstream gender in national policies and in tracking progress towards achieving gender parity.

The report is available in English (PDF).

The Central Administration of Statistics publishes the results of the Sub-National Lebanon Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS 2023), implemented with the technical and financial support of UNICEF, including the Global MICS Team.

The survey was originally designed to produce national-level estimates. However, due to security constraints encountered during data collection, the results are published only for the governorates and regions where data collection was successfully completed.

Accordingly, findings are available for Beirut, North Lebanon, Akkar, Mount Lebanon, and Bekaa, as well as for settlements of displaced Syrians and camps of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon. The governorates of Nabatieh, Baalbeck-Hermel, and South Lebanon are not included in the results.
